The adoption by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of the Strategy for Promoting the Realization of the Rights and Opportunities of Persons belonging to the Roma National Minority reaffirms Ukraine's consistent compliance with its international obligations.
This step reflects our country’s strong commitment to the Council of Europe’s Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities, the revised European Social Charter on Economic, Social, Cultural, Civil and Political Rights, the UN Conventions on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women and All Forms of Racial Discrimination, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Through its consistent policy in this field Ukraine makes an important contribution to the efforts of the international community, including to the implementation of the Action Plan on Improving the Situation of Roma and Sinti in the OSCE Region, the EU Roma Strategic Framework for Equality, Inclusion and Participation for 2020-2030, and the Council of Europe Strategic Action Plan for Roma and Traveler Inclusion for 2020-2025.
