On August 6, Deputy Foreign Minister Yevhen Perebyinis held a meeting with Deputy
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Jaroslav Kurfürst, in the framework of his visit to
Yevhen Perebyinis expressed sincere gratitude to the Czech Republic for its
comprehensive support of Ukraine in countering russian military aggression. In his turn,
Jaroslav Kurfürst reaffirmed the Czech Republic’s readiness to continue providing Ukraine
with necessary support and assistance, including the strengthening international sanctions
against the russian federation.
The counterparts have discussed topical issues of the bilateral cooperation. They outlined
practical ways of its further development. They also touched upon the prospects of the
Czech Republic’s participation in the reconstruction projects in Ukraine.
In this regard, Jaroslav Kurfürst pointed out that the Czech Republic is ready to take over
the coordination of the reconstruction in Dnipropetrovsk region.
The parties paid a particular attention to interacting in the field of the European integration
of Ukraine. This matter is one of the key priorities of the Czech Presidency in the Council
of the European Union in the second half of 2022.
Both diplomats have also discussed a series of upcoming bilateral events, aimed at
deepening cooperation between the two countries.
The Czech Republic belongs to the group of countries that provided Ukraine with the most
significant assistance, primarily with weapons and military equipment.
The Czech Republic ranks third among the countries that accepted Ukrainian citizens who
were forced to leave their homes fleeing the horrors of war unleashed by Russia - over
