Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Yevheniy Yenin had a telephone conversation with Derek Chollet, Adviser to the US Secretary of State.
Yevheniy Yenin expressed gratitude for the unwavering support of the United States to Ukraine in countering Russian aggression and strengthening our country's defense capabilities.
The Deputy Minister drew the interlocutor's attention to the serious security threats to Ukraine, Europe and the United States from the Russian geopolitical project Nord Stream-2. "The project is not just a bad deal for Europe. It is an instrument of Russia's hybrid war, with which the Kremlin seeks to undermine Europe's energy security and the transatlantic unity of Western democracies. It is in our common interests to prevent these plans from happening", - Yevheniy Yenin stressed.
Derek Chollet noted that strengthening the strategic partnership with Ukraine is of particular importance to the interests of US national security and stability in Europe against the background of Russia's increasingly aggressive policy.
