The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba met with members of the Confederation of Danish Industry – the most influential business association in Denmark.
The association represents the interests of more than 19,000 medium and large Danish companies.
Among others, the meeting was attended by leaders of such international Danish companies as A.P. Moller - Maersk (container shipping), Vestas (wind turbine manufacturing), Novo-Nordisk (pharmaceuticals).
Dmytro Kuleba informed Danish businesses in detail about the implementation of a number of important reforms in Ukraine and the positive dynamics of economic indicators. He assured that today there were no reasons to reduce or curtail investment projects in our country, as the security situation remained under control.
The Minister noted a significant increase of bilateral trade turnover between Ukraine and Denmark in recent years, despite the negative effects of the pandemic.
The head of Ukrainian MFA welcomed the intentions of Danish investors to increase investments into Ukraine’s economy that would contribute to strengthening economic and financial stability in our country.
“The President of Ukraine and the Ukrainian government are determined to continue working actively in order to improve the investment climate in Ukraine and create new opportunities for Ukrainian and foreign businesses, new jobs for citizens,” Dmytro Kuleba stressed.
In this context, he noted the decision of the Danish manufacturer of designer furniture Hjort Knudsen to build a modern designer furniture factory worth more than 12 million euros near Rivne. This project will create about 1,000 new jobs.
Dmytro Kuleba presented Ukraine’s great investment opportunities, particularly in such areas as infrastructure, shipbuilding, food industry, agriculture, IT services, renewable energy, energy efficiency and aerospace industry.
The Minister invited Danish IT companies to take part in the Diia Summit to be held on February 8 in Kyiv to get acquainted with the possibilities of new electronic services and the special legal regime for IT industry provided by Diia City.
