Dmytro Kuleba: International support for Ukraine will be maintained despite any political turmoil
12 October 2023 11:43

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba emphasized the importance of maintaining and increasing international support to achieve the strategic goal of Ukraine's victory and protecting the whole of Europe from the Russian terror.

He stated this in his online address at the event of the German think tank Zentrum Liberale Moderne.

“Maintaining and increasing support despite tactical political turmoil is essential to ensuring that Ukraine defeats Russian invasion forces and drives them out of its territory”, - he stressed.

According to the Minister, such a decisive and painful defeat will not only be the just outcome of Russia's barbaric and unprovoked aggression. It will also change Russia’s course.

“I am certain we can navigate all the political storms and elections that generate a lot of noise and still stay focused on our strategic goal of ensuring that Ukraine prevails”, - Foreign Minister of Ukraine stated.

Dmytro Kuleba stressed that the EU steps up its role in supporting Ukraine, even though the U.S. is getting more and more focused on its domestic political process.

“This shows Europe’s growing global role and strength. We must remain united and firm in putting Russian aggression to an end and restoring just peace”, - Minister Kuleba said.

Dmytro Kuleba warned against allowing the aggressor state to freeze the conflict and use the pause to restore its capability. He recalled the warning of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy: if we give Russia a pause and do not increase pressure, by 2028 it will restore its military potential and be ready for a new wave of aggression.

“If we follow this dangerous scenario, the level of propaganda madness inside Russia will only rise over these four years. Hatred toward Ukraine, Europe, and other nations within Russian society will further escalate. Russian ultranationalist, fascist, and revanchist agendas will only become more poisonous. Does anyone believe that, in such circumstances, only Ukraine will face a new wave of aggression in 2028?” – he asked.

Foreign Minister of Ukraine emphasized that only a devastating blow in Ukraine would bring Russia back to its senses.

“We must all realize what is at stake. This war is about so much more than Ukraine. Together we can avoid the worst-case scenario. It’s a difficult but feasible path. It’s called a Ukrainian victory. Let's work together to keep the gates of Europe shut and protected from Russian terror. This will ensure decades of peaceful and prosperous development for the European continent”, - he emphasized.
