On October 11, as part of the Western Balkans countries tour, the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis paid a working visit to the Republic of Albania, where he met with the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania Igli Hasani and the Minister of State for Relations with the Parliament Elisa Spiropali.
As part of the visit, Ukrainian-Albanian political consultations were also held under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis and Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania Megi Fino.
During the consultations, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of Ukrainian-Albanian cooperation, including political dialogue, economic cooperation, cooperation between Ukraine and Albania within the framework of international organizations.
Yevhen Perebyinis expressed gratitude to Albania for its consistent and principled position on supporting Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression, both in bilateral dialogue and within the international organizations. The Deputy Minister also noted the special role of Albania as non-permanent member of the UN Security Council and expressed gratitude for the financial, humanitarian and military support of Ukraine since the first days after the start of the full-scale invasion of Russia.
Particular attention was paid to the European integration processes of Ukraine and Albania, as well as to the Euro-Atlantic integration of our country.
The Deputy Head of the foreign policy of Ukraine informed the Albanian partners about Ukraine's implementation of relevant European Commission recommendations, work on the implementation of the decisions of the Vilnius NATO summit, as well as expectations from the Washington NATO summit. Albania assured Ukraine of full support on these issues. The parties agreed on further dialogue and consultations with the aim of accelerating both processes.
Separately, focused on the security situation in Ukraine, cooperation on the issue of the implementation of the Peace Formula of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, setting of a Special Tribunal on the crime of aggression by Russia, and the deepening of sanctions pressure on the aggressor state.
