On Thursday, April 18, during an official visit to Italy and before a meeting of the G7 foreign ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba emphasized the need for the speedy delivery of additional air defense systems, including "Patriot" and "SAMP/T" to protect Ukrainians from Russian terror.
He said this in an interview with the Italian TV channel TG1.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine noted that he had come to the ministerial meeting to follow up on President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy's contacts and to appeal to the countries that have supported Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion.
"The message is simple: the world cannot just watch Ukrainians being killed by Russian missiles and drones. Ukraine urgently needs additional "Patriot" and "SAMP/T" air defense systems to protect itself from Russian terror," he emphasized.
"The Group of Seven are those countries that have the ability to provide Ukraine with more air defense systems without delay, and we are making every effort to ensure that decisions are made as soon as possible," the Minister said.
In this context, the Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs mentioned the example of Germany, which has already decided to provide an additional "Patriot" battery, and called on other countries to follow suit.
"We have seen since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia that the G7 countries are capable of making really powerful and extraordinary decisions. We are deeply grateful to them for what they have already done for us. But the longer the war lasts, the more brave decisions are needed. I am convinced that the Group of Seven is capable of making them," the Minister said.
