On April 18, 2024 Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba met with U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken within the framework of G7 Ministerial Meeting on the island of Capri.

Dmytro Kuleba expressed gratitude to the American side for the ongoing significant support, in particular, with regard to the recent decision to allocate additional "Patriot" systems from the partners.

"The role of the United States in providing Ukraine with air defense systems is fundamental. However, it is also important to stop Russian air terror as soon as possible," - the minister said.

The sides discussed in detail joint global efforts to provide Ukraine with more "Patriot" air defense systems and missiles as soon as possible.

The both sides emphasized the urgent need for the U.S. Congress to pass an additional aid package for Ukraine. This will be a signal of strength and confidence that will allow Ukraine to save lives and improve the situation on the battlefield.

"Any other country in the world would not be capable of fighting against Russia - country of its size, political influence and military potential, but I am convinced that Ukraine, with the support of its reliable friends, such as the United States, will be able to continue to deter such a strong aggressor state," - the Foreign Minister emphasized.

The Foreign Minister emphasized that on the sidelines of the ministerial summit, systematic work continues to ensure that the allies provide Ukraine with "Patriot" air defense systems as soon as possible. Dmytro Kuleba emphasized that the key element in this matter is consistent and sustainable support of Ukraine.

"Providing Ukraine with additional air defense systems, in particular the American systems "Patriot", is not only about human lives and infrastructure protection, in a broader sense it is a matter of Ukraine`s survival in this struggle against much stronger enemy and it is about the future of the worls we live in," - the minister said.
