On September 6, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine (CDTO) Dmytro Senik received Ambassador of the State of Israel to Ukraine Michael Brodsky.
The interlocutors discussed major issues of Ukrainian-Israeli relations, in particular development of political dialogue at high and the highest levels.
They paid special attention to the participation of Israel’s representatives in commemorative events in Kyiv dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Babyn Yar tragedy.
The Deputy Minister and the Ambassador noted an important role of the Joint Ukrainian-Israeli Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation in increasing trade volumes and attracting new investments.
The Israeli diplomat thanked the Ukrainian side for the proper organization of the Hasidic pilgrimage to Uman this year.
For his part, Dmytro Senik congratulated the Jewish community of Israel and the whole world on Rosh Hashanah, a festive New Year's celebration according to the Jewish calendar.
- On August 26, 2021, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba held phone talks with Alternate Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel Yair Lapid.
- According to the results of 2020, the total volume of bilateral trade in goods and services between Ukraine and Israel amounted to 907.3 million USD. The positive balance of Ukraine's foreign trade in goods and services with Israel in 2020 amounted to 513.1 million USD.
- In January 2019, Ukraine and Israel signed the Free Trade Agreement (in goods), which entered into force on January 1, 2021.
- Every year, the city of Uman receives thousands of Hasidic pilgrims, mostly from Israel, who come to celebrate Rosh Hashanah - the New Year on the Jewish calendar (which in 2021 fell on September 6-8).
