On November 03, 2021, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine (CDTO) Dmytro Senik held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt Ayman Elgammal.

The parties discussed further ways to intensify political dialogue, the schedule of political contacts at the highest and high levels, the development of cooperation in trade, investment and humanitarian spheres.

The diplomats paid special attention to the prospects of bilateral trade liberalization, preparation of the eighth meeting of the intergovernmental joint commission on economic and scientific-technical cooperation, coordination of cooperation aiming at entering of Ukrainian companies to African markets.

For reference: according to the State statistics service of Ukraine, in 2020 the total volume of trade amounted to 1.8 billion USD. For 8 months of 2021, exports of goods from Ukraine amounted to 956.5 million USD, total trade - more than 1 billion USD.

The eighth meeting of the intergovernmental joint commission on economic and scientific-technical cooperation between Ukraine and the ARE is scheduled for December 14-16, 2021 in Cairo.
