On Mar. 31, 2020, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba of Ukraine received Ambassador Kwon Ki-Chang of Korea.
The parties expressed their mutual interest in enhancing trade and business contacts despite the negative effects of the current pandemic on the world economy.
Dmytro Kuleba asked the Ambassador to facilitate further Korean investment into Ukraine. After discussing successful investment projects already implemented by Korean companies in Ukraine, the Ambassador confirmed their interest in further steps.
“We see 2020 as a year of new opportunities. The current crisis should not impede our development but should encourage the search for new ways to advance”, Dmytro Kuleba said.

The Minister asked the Korean government to consider humanitarian aid for Ukraine to fight the pandemic, provide tests and help to cure Ukrainian citizens infected by the virus.
The parties also discussed coordination efforts between the two nations in political matters, including organization of high level visits.
