Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba had a telephone conversation with the recently appointed Minister of Foreign Affaires of the Czech Republic Jakub Kulhanek.
Ukrainian minister congratulated his colleague with the appointment and wished him success on this responsible position.
Jakub Kulhanek expressed gratitude for the support and solidarity of Ukraine with the Czech Republic against the background of the destabilizing actions of the Russian Federation on its territory. He underlined that Dmytro Kuleba was among the first foreign ministers who expressed support to Prague.
“The sign of solidarity at such a critical moment for the Czech Republic is an example of true friendship. We will never forget that”, - stressed the head of the Czech diplomacy.
Dmytro Kuleba invited those Czech diplomats expelled from Russia to work in Ukraine. “Close friends can rely on each other’s support in times of the biggest challenges. The Ukrainian side will welcome the appointment of the Czech diplomats expelled from Moscow for the posts in Kyiv in order to strengthen the Czech Republic’s diplomatic presence in Ukraine for the benefit of the development of relations between our states and people”.
The ministers discussed the situation on the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, steps to deter Russia from further aggressive actions. The Czech minister noted the wise and balanced policy of the Ukrainian leadership in the current situation.
Dmytro Kuleba and Jakub Kulhanek agreed that Russia’s statements on withdrawal of the Russian troops from the border of Ukraine have to be attested by Moscow’s concrete actions to de-escalate the security situation and reaffirm its commitments to ceasefire in Donbas.
Both diplomats emphasized the importance of maintaining consolidated international support to Ukraine until Russia fully fulfills its obligations towards political and diplomatic settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian armed conflict.
The Czech Foreign Minister confirmed his readiness to promote Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration and support implementation of domestic reforms in our state.
Jakub Kulhanek accepted Dmytro Kuleba’s invitation to pay a visit to Ukraine this year.
