Within the Asian Week, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba of Ukraine held a telephone conversation with Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan of Singapore.

Dmytro Kuleba conveyed his greetings to his Singaporean counterpart on the 28th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the two nations and thanked Singapore for its strong support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The parties noted growing trade between Ukraine and Singapore and a great potential for further increase in trade and investment.

“Coronavirus should not obstruct political and economic cooperation. Current situation gives us an opportunity to build new supply links for our products in world markets, in particular, in Asia. In this respect, Singapore is one of our vital partners in the region”, said Dmytro Kuleba.

Minister Kuleba also thanked his Singaporean counterpart for supporting Ukrainians in Singapore with visas due to the cancellation of air flights.

Dmytro Kuleba particularly noted the intention of Ukraine to promote partnership with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, an international organization where Singapore plays an important role.

The ministers also discussed coordination in several international organizations.
