On 27 February 2021, Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine (CDTO) Dmytro Senik started his working visit to the State of Qatar.

Dmytro Senik paid a visit to Hamad Port, where he got acquainted with the state-of-the-art infrastructure and technical capabilities of one of the largest ports in the Middle East and the Gulf region.

The Deputy Minister held a meeting with the management of Hamad port, as well as negotiations with the top management of the Qatari companies Milaha and QTerminals.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of the Agreement between the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine and the Qatari company QTerminals on the concession of the Ukrainian seaport of Olvia (Mykolayiv).

Dmytro Senik invited Qatari partners to visit Ukraine to discuss prospects for expanding bilateral investment cooperation in the area of infrastructure.

For reference: On 20 August 2020, Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, the State Enterprise "Administration of Seaports of Ukraine" and the Qatari company "QTerminals signed Agreement on the transfer of the Ukrainian port "Olvia" (Mykolayiv) for concession to the Qatari company. The Qatari company is committed to invest UAH 3.4 billion over the next five years into the development of the Ukrainian port and its infrastructure. The implementation of this project in the Ukrainian port of Olvia will be the largest foreign direct investment in the port industry of Ukraine since 1991.
