On June 16, First Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine Dzhaparova held a telephone conversation with the Under-Secretary for Political Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Yemeni Republic Mansour Ali Bajash.
The parties exchanged views on topical issues on the agenda, in particular on the ongoing aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, security and humanitarian situation in Yemen, prospects of Yemeni peace process, problems of the internally displaced persons.
Emine Dzhaparova informed her Yemeni colleague on the security threats in the Black Sea region and for neighboring regions, which are stemming from Russian militarization of the occupied Crimea, as well as parts of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, systematic human rights violations in the temporarily occupied Crimea, inter alia the prosecution of Ukrainians and Crimean Tatar people, violation of the freedom of religion and belief, including criminal persecution of Crimean Muslims.
In line with the tasks, set by the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba, the First Deputy Minister thoroughly informed her Yemeni counterpart on the structure, goals and priorities of the Crimea Platform, and reiterated the invitation to the Yemeni side to take part in the inaugural Summit of the Crimea Platform in Kyiv on August 23.
The parties paid special attention to the issues of bilateral cooperation, in particular the prospects of deepening political dialogue between the foreign ministries, interaction in the framework of international organizations, including UNESCO.
«We are ready to assist Yemen in the issues of post-war recovery, food security and humanitarian demining», Emine Dzhaparova noted.
Mansour Ali Bajash expressed his appreciation of Ukrainian support and hope for the continuation of a close dialogue between Ukraine and Yemen.
