On September 24, 2020, First Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine Dzhaparova received Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Ukraine Mr Manouchehr Moradi upon his request.
Emine Dzhaparova briefed in details the Ambassador about numerous human rights violations by Russia on the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the militarization of the Azov and the Black Sea region, as well as on Ukraine's international efforts towards de-occupation of the peninsula.
The Ambassador of Iran expressed understanding of the political and humanitarian situation in Crimea, reaffirming the consistent position of Iran in supporting Ukraine's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
They also discussed issues related to cooperation between Ukraine and Iran in fields of culture, education and ways of increasing efficiency of interaction within the UN and other international organizations.
Emine Dzhaparova expressed hope that Iran would ensure prompt, transparent and objective investigation of the catastrophe causes, fair trial and punishment of those who are guilty, paying off compensations to the families of the victims and Ukraine, as well as guarantees of non-repeating of such tragedies in future.
Ambassador Moradi assured the First Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine of the readiness of the Iranian side to resolve the up-mentioned issues as soon as possible in a mutually acceptable manner during the next round of talks scheduled for October 18-21 in Tehran.
