The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine categorically rejects the Russian Federation's groundless accusations against Ukraine of alleged involvement in the aggravation of the security situation in Syria.

Ukraine, contrary to Russia, unconditionally adheres to the norms of international law, the principles of the inviolability of sovereignty and territorial integrity of other countries.

We reiterate, that it is Moscow and Tehran, who bear main responsibility for the steady trend of worsening security situation in Syria, and it is the horrible crimes committed by Assad’s regime against its own people, as well as its unwillingness to ensure a fair dialogue within the country that have jeopardized the survival of Syria as a unified and independent state.
