Ukraine expresses disappointment regarding information about Switzerland's support for the so-called "China-Brazil six-point consensus".
We find the logic behind this decision difficult to comprehend. Together with the Swiss Confederation, we organized the First Global Peace Summit on 15-16 June in Bürgenstock, which was attended by representatives from one hundred countries and international institutions. Our countries continue to cooperateactively on increasing the number of signatories to the JointCommuniqué of this Summit. Switzerland participates in thematic conferences on specific points of the Peace Formula, aimed at preparing a joint peace framework for the restoration of a comprehensive, just and lasting peace for Ukraine.
We reiterate that all ideas, discussions, and plans regarding the restoration of peace for Ukraine must be based on two principles: First, nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine. Second – these proposals should be based on the UN Charter and include respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.
We are confident that such peace ideas could be discussed on the platform proposed by the First Peace Summit. We consider the Peace Formula of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as the only path to a comprehensive, just and lastingpeace.
There is no necessity to create additional formats and platforms to discuss the ways to achieve peace for Ukraine. The Peace Formula provides a complete toolkit and appropriate platforms for the discussion of all peaceful ideas, consolidation of different visions and concepts.
Any initiatives that do not contain a clear reference to the UN Charter and do not guarantee the full restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity are unacceptable. Such "peace initiatives" only create an illusion of dialogue while the aggressor continues its criminal actions.
We call upon the Swiss Confederation and all countries that support international law and the UN Charter to avoid participating in so-called "peace initiatives" that may only complicate the process of achieving a comprehensive, just and lasting peace for Ukraine. Those initiatives that do not recognize the fact of Russia's unprovoked armed aggression against Ukraine, equate the victim and the aggressor, or propose de-escalation at the expense of Ukraine's sovereignty and territories, cannot be supported by Ukraine.
