On August 5, Special Representative of Ukraine for the Middle East and Africa Maksym Subkh held a meeting with Acting Head of the European Union Delegation to Ukraine Remi Duflot.
Special Representative extended gratitude to the leadership of the European Union for its steady support of Ukrainian efforts towards upholding respect for international law, the principles and goals of the UN Charter, as well as its firm position on establishing a just peace in Ukraine.
Ukrainian diplomat highlighted Ukraine`s vision of the latest developments on the African continent, particularly in the West African region.
Maksym Subkh informed the interlocutor about the implementation of the African vector of Ukraine's foreign policy and emphasized the readiness to increase efforts aimed at ensuring the stability and prosperity of the states of this region.
The situation in the Middle East was also considered, noting the importance of consolidating the efforts of the international community to achieve de-escalation in the region, as well as preventing the protracted conflict in the Middle East from developing into a regional confrontation.
The parties agreed on further coordination and interaction to promote the constructive development of relations with the states of Africa and the Middle East, identifying common challenges and threats, as well as mechanisms to neutralize them.
