On May 7, Special Representative of Ukraine for the Middle East and Africa Maksym Subkh had a meeting with Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Ukraine Martin Harris.

Maksym Subkh expressed gratitude to the Ambassador for the contribution of Great Britain to the development and strengthening of relations between Ukraine and the countries of the African continent.

The Special Representative informed the interlocutor on the successful completion of the April tour to African countries, as a result of which six new foreign diplomatic missions of Ukraine were opened in particular in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Mozambique, Botswana and Rwanda.

During the meeting, the interlocutors paid special attention to the preparation for the conducting of the inaugural Global Peace Summit which will be held in Switzerland in June of this year. The parties discussed the possibilities of bilateral cooperation in the context of organizing the Summit.

Diplomats also had a constructive exchange of views on the current political and security situation in the Middle East and in some states of the African continent.
