On May 7, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha held a meeting with Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Ukraine Toyly Atayev.
During the meeting, Andrii Sybiha briefed his counterpart on the preparations for the First Inaugural Peace Summit in Switzerland.
The parties emphasized the importance of intensifying trade and economic cooperation between two countries. "Despite the logistical difficulties caused by Russian aggression, the volumes of bilateral trade have increased," First Deputy Minister underlined. Trade between the two countries increased by 47.2% in 2022, and by additional 24.6% in 2023. Such cooperation is crucial for strengthening the resilience of the Ukrainian economy and contributing to the prosperity of both countries.
Toyly Atayev highly appreciated the operation of Ukrainian companies involved in the implementation of large-scale infrastructure projects in Turkmenistan.
Special attention was paid to the importance of deepening interaction in the cultural and humanitarian sphere.
First Deputy Minister expressed gratitude for the humanitarian assistance provided to Ukraine by the Turkmen side in 2022-2023.
