On March 6, 2025 as part of the initiative of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha to encourage young people to join the diplomatic service, Special Representative of Ukraine for the Middle East and Africa Maksym Subkh together with Head of the Human Resources Management Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vitalii Moshkivskyi met with students and faculty of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
During the meeting, Maksym Subkh told the students about the practical steps taken by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to enable talented graduates of Ukrainian universities to start their professional career within the Ministry. Given the opening of a number of Ukrainian embassies in Africa and the Middle East, special attention was paid to the employment prospects in the Ukrainian diplomatic service for future specialists studying rare languages.
In the course of the event, the Special Representative informed the students about internship opportunities at the MFA while they are still studying, as well as about the employment process for graduates.
The students learned about an ongoing open competition to fill existing vacancies as well as requirements for candidates, working conditions and opportunities for professional growth within the MFA.
In conclusion, Maksym Subkh and Vitalii Moshkivsky answered numerous questions from the audience about the work of a diplomat, its realities and challenges amid the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. The Special Representative noted that despite the difficulties faced by our country, Ukraine is determined to continue expanding its diplomatic presence, in particular in the Middle East, Asia and Africa, which opens up new horizons for future young diplomats.
