On March 1-2, during the official visit to Oman Special Representative of Ukraine for the Middle East and Africa Maksym Subkh was received by Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman Badr bin Hamad Albusaidi.

Maksym Subkh handed over the Omani high-ranking official a personal letter of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq with proposals to intensify Ukrainian-Omani cooperation in various fields.

The Special Representative of Ukraine informed in detail the Foreign Minister of Oman about the current political and security situation in Ukraine in the context of countering the ongoing armed aggression of the russian federation against our country.  

Maksym Subkh expressed gratitude to the leadership of Oman for supporting the resolution of the UN General Assembly "Principles of the Charter of the United Nations that underline the comprehensive, just and lasting peace in Ukraine", as well as the Peace Formula initiated by the President of Ukraine.

In its turn, the Foreign Minister of Oman expressed support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. He noted the importance of Russia's strict adherence to the rules of international law in order to stop suffering of Ukrainians.

During the meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Diplomatic Affairs Khalifa Alharthy, the interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues of Ukrainian-Omani agenda, including the intensification of political dialogue, the expansion of the bilateral legal framework and strengthening trade and economic relations.

Ukraine invited Oman to participate in international programs and initiatives aimed at providing humanitarian aid to our country and its post-war recovery, including the involvement of Oman in the implementation of the grain initiative of the President of Ukraine "Grain from Ukraine".

The Special Representative invited his colleague to visit Ukraine and proposed to organize a possible visit of the Foreign Minister of the Sultanate to Kyiv.

Furthermore, Maksym Subkh held separate talks with Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion of Oman Qais Al Yousef, President of the Oman Investment Authority Abdulsalam Al Murshidi and Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry Faisal Al Rawas.

During the mentioned meetings, the parties outlined specific mechanisms for the possible expansion of the presence of Ukrainian business in the Omani market. The Omani side was also invited to participate in the implementation of the National Plan for post-war reconstruction and development of Ukraine. Within the framework of the visit, the Industrial investment menu of Ukraine and the Ukrainian digital platform "NAZOVNI" were presented to Omani partners.

The Ukrainian delegation called on Oman to provide Ukraine with the necessary humanitarian aid in order to overcome the consequences of russian armed aggression, including by supporting projects to restore critical infrastructure facilities.

The sides emphasized the importance of conducting joint trade, economic and investment activities in the near future, in particular through interaction between the relevant state authorities of both countries, with the participation of the EIC under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and Ukrainian and Omani businessmen.

During his stay in Oman, Maksym Subh visited the Honorary Consulate of Ukraine in Muscat, where he met with its head, Ghani Al-Rajab, and discussed issues related to protecting the rights and interests of individuals and legal entities of Ukraine in the Sultanate.

Based on the results of the visit, the Special Representative gave an interview to the leading media of Oman.
