On April 24, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mariana Betsa received copies of the credentias from the Ambassador of the Republic of Panama to Ukraine (non-resident), Jorge Ricardo Silena Santacoloma.
During the meeting, Mariana Betsa congratulated the Ambassador on the beginning of his diplomatic mission in Ukraine and expressed hope that his work would contribute to the further strengthening of friendly relations between Ukraine and the Republic of Panama.
The parties noted the recent intensification of political dialogue between the two countries. In particular, they emphasized the importance of the official visit of Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andrii Sybiha, to Panama in March this year, which marked an important step in strengthening bilateral relations and provided additional momentum for the development of cooperation.
During the conversation, the sides exchanged views on current issues on the Ukrainian–Panamanian agenda, including prospects for further development of political interaction, cooperation within international organizations, and the expansion of the legal and contractual framework.
Particular attention was paid to the security situation in Ukraine in the context of the ongoing armed aggression of the Russian Federation.
The Deputy Minister expressed gratitude to Panama for its consistent support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for its principled position in international fora, particularly within the framework of the United Nations.
Mariana Betsa also thanked Panama for joining the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children and expressed hope for continued close cooperation.
The parties confirmed their mutual interest in maintaining an active dialogue and agreed to continue cooperation with the aim of further strengthening Ukrainian–Panamanian relations across various fields.
