On 5 February, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mariana Betsa held an online meeting with Martin Bille Hermann, Deputy Political Director for Multilateral Affairs, Human Rights, and Democracy of the European External Action Service (EEAS).
During the conversation, Mariana Betsa expressed gratitude to the European Union and its member states for their consistent and principled support of Ukraine, both at the bilateral level and within international organizations.
The parties discussed coordination of actions between Ukraine and the European Union at the United Nations and other international organizations, aimed at countering the ongoing aggression of the Russian Federation and returning Ukrainian children deported by the aggressor state.
Particular attention was paid to preparations for events marking the fourth anniversary of the full-scale Russian invasion on 24 February and potential formats for related initiatives.
Martin Bille Hermann reaffirmed the European Union’s steadfast support for Ukraine amid the ongoing full-scale Russian aggression and expressed readiness for continued close coordination with the Ukrainian side to achieve a comprehensive, just and sustainable peace based on the UN Charter.
