On 22 May, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mariana Betsa met with Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office – OSCE Project Coordinator in Ukraine Petr Mareš. 

The parties discussed topical issues related to the implementation of OSCE projects in Ukraine and other avenues for the further development of cooperation.

Mariana Betsa expressed her gratitude to the OSCE Side for its productive work in implementing the most relevant projects for Ukraine, primarily those aimed at mitigating consequences of Russia’s ongoing war against Ukraine. 

The interlocutors also discussed the ongoing preparations for the upcoming visit to Ukraine of a delegation of permanent representatives of OSCE participating states.

Mariana Betsa underlined the importance of the upcoming visit that should provide the OSCE ambassadors from Vienna with a unique opportunity to witness firsthand the devastating consequences of the ongoing Russia’s war against Ukraine, receive updated information regarding Ukraine’s pressing needs as well as engage with representatives of state agencies and civil society. 

For his part, Ambassador Petr Mareš emphasized the unwavering solidarity with Ukraine and reiterated the readiness to continue providing expert support through implementation of projects requested by Ukraine.
