On January 29, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mariana Betsa met with Head of the Council of Europe Office in Ukraine Maciej Janczak.
Mariana Betsa expressed her gratitude to the Head of the CoE Office for the comprehensive support provided amid Russia's ongoing aggression against Ukraine and noted that the Council of Europe remains one of Ukraine's key international partners, both in addressing the consequences of Russia’s aggression and in advancing Ukraine’s European integration path.
The parties positively assessed the implementation of the Council of Europe Action Plan for Ukraine “Resilience, Recovery and Reconstruction” for 2023–2026 and confirmed the importance of continued close coordination in the context of preparing a new document for 2027–2030.
The Deputy Minister emphasized that the future Action Plan should focus on addressing the challenges of Ukraine's post-war recovery, ensuring the resilience of state institutions, and their further alignment with European standards.
Mariana Betsa expressed gratitude for the leading role of the Council of Europe in launching legal mechanisms to hold the Russian Federation accountable for all crimes committed against Ukraine and the Ukrainian people, and also stressed their critical importance for ensuring justice and restoring the rule of law.
