On February 4, Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Mariana Betsa held a meeting with the UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Ukraine Matthias Schmale. Head of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Ukraine Andrea De Domenico also attended the meeting.
The Deputy Minister expressed gratitude to the United Nations for its important role in overcoming the consequences of Russian aggression against Ukraine, which continues to cause damage and destruction every day. «Thank you for your tireless work aimed at improving the lives of millions of Ukrainians who struggle due to Russia's criminal actions. We must ensure close coordination with the UN humanitarian organizations and all donors to maintain an appropriate level of response to these challenges», - Mariana Betsa said.
The sides also discussed possible ways to accumulate additional resources to ensure the effective operation of the UN organizations and agencies in Ukraine in order to strengthen the UN humanitarian response to the threats posed by Russia's barbaric actions, as well as other practical aspects of cooperation between Ukraine and the United Nations.
