28 January 2026 15:15

On January 27, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Mariana Betsa, participated in the public discussion "Ukraine–United States Partnership," organized by the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine in cooperation with the Serhii Nyzhnyi Kyiv School of Public Administration.

The event took place as part of preparations for Ukrainian Week in Washington, D.C., and on the occasion of marking the 250th anniversary of the United States of America this year.

During the panel discussion “Humanitarian Resilience: State, Institutions, People,” Mariana Betsa emphasized the importance of advocating for Ukraine’s humanitarian needs at the international level amid ongoing Russian aggression. The diplomat stressed that partners’ assistance in countering Russian aggression must take into account the real needs of people, including protecting civilian infrastructure from Russian attacks, supporting the return of Ukrainian children abducted by Russia, supporting the release of all our prisoners of war and illegally detained civilian hostages, and ensuring aid for post-war reconstruction.

"Ukraine is grateful to the U.S. Administration, Congress, and the American people for their multifaceted support for our state, ranging from military assistance to investments in recovery. We highlight the special role of the United States in advancing the achievement of a just peace in Ukraine," said Mariana Betsa.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that the Ukraine–U.S. partnership is strategic and encompasses security, economic, energy, and humanitarian dimensions.

The event was also attended by U.S. Chargé d'Affaires in Ukraine Julie Davis; Co-Chair of "Ukrainian Week in Washington, D.C."; Coordinator of the Prayer Breakfast Movement of Ukraine, Pavlo Unguryan; Deputy Minister for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, Ruslan Prykhodko; and representatives of the Ukrainian Parliament, executive authorities, and the expert community.
