On Wednesday, 28 January, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Ukraine, Tolezhan Barlibayev.
The interlocutors discussed priority issues of bilateral relations, the development of trade and economic cooperation, the progress of peace efforts, the implementation of humanitarian projects, and addressing the consequences of Russian attacks on civilians and Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
“Kazakhstan is an important partner of Ukraine in the Central Asian region. Our countries are historically united by strong cultural, people-to-people, and economic ties. We value the consistent position of the leadership of the Republic of Kazakhstan in supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country. Ukraine, in turn, has always respected the statehood and national identity of Kazakhstan,” the Minister noted.
Andrii Sybiha expressed gratitude for the rehabilitation of Ukrainian children in Kazakhstan’s sanatorium facilities. The parties also discussed Kazakhstan’s further involvement in providing humanitarian assistance during this particularly difficult period for Ukraine.
During the meeting, the diplomats reviewed the schedule of bilateral contacts for 2026 and the status of implementation of agreements reached at the high and highest levels.
