On July 22, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Olexandr Mischenko met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Ukraine Tolezhan Barlybayev.

The interlocutors noted the importance of further developing the traditionally friendly relations between the two countries, based on mutual respect for sovereignty, independence, and national interests.

Olexandr Mischenko reaffirmed Ukraine’s interest in maintaining the positivemomentum in the Ukrainian-Kazakh dialogue and ensuring the practicalimplementation of the agreements reached.

The parties discussed prospects for expanding trade and economic cooperation and direct contacts between the business communities of the two countries.

The Ukrainian side emphasized its interest in organizing business missions, intensifying cooperation in the transport and logistics sector, and engagingKazakh companies in Ukraine’s recovery projects. Particular attention was also paid to the development of humanitarian cooperation.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the situation surrounding attacks on the infrastructure of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium. The Ukrainianside reaffirmed its readiness for constructive engagement with its Kazakhpartners to clarify the circumstances of the recent incidents and address the issue.

Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening the Ukrainian-Kazakh partnership, implementing specific joint projects, and continuing constructive dialogue across the full range of issues on the bilateral agenda.
