Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mariana Betsa took part in a working meeting on the results of the implementation and further prospects of the school nutrition reform, which took place on December 16, 2025 with the participation of the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska.
The event was chaired by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko. The event was attended by members of the Government, heads of central executive bodies, heads of regional military administrations, city mayors, representatives of the Office of the President of Ukraine, local governments from regions where infrastructure projects in the field of school nutrition are already being implemented or are planned, international partners, representatives of international organizations, financial institutions, and the diplomatic corps.
Noting the important role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in attracting international support and coordinating cooperation with foreign partners and donors, Mariana Betsa emphasized that the department systematically works to provide financial, expert and institutional assistance for the development of school feeding as a component of the state's humanitarian policy and investment in the health of future generations.
Thanks to these efforts, international partners provide significant financial support, including for the construction of factory kitchens in the regions of Ukraine.
The Deputy Minister called on international partners to further support the reform, in particular in terms of equipping schools, logistics and purchasing equipment necessary to scale the reform at the national level.
Mariana Betsa also noted that Ukraine is ready to continue sharing its experience in the field of school feeding with foreign countries, in particular countries of the Global South.
The participants discussed the results of the reform implementation, the updated Operational Plan of the School Nutrition Reform Strategy for 2025–2027, as well as the role of international partnership in ensuring the sustainability of its implementation in the face of security challenges.
