On November 6, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, President of the National Commission of Ukraine for UNESCO Mariana Betsa held a meeting with the newly elected Director-General of UNESCO Khaled El-Enany (Egypt).
Mariana Betsa, on behalf of Minister for Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha, congratulated Khaled El-Enany on his election to this high office.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of cooperation between Ukraine and UNESCO, as well as strengthening UNESCO's assistance to Ukraine in order to overcome the consequences of Russian aggression in all areas of UNESCO's mandate.
Mariana Betsa invited the newly elected Director-General Khaled El-Enany to visit Ukraine.
Khaled El-Enany's term as Director-General of UNESCO officially begins on November 15, 2025.
