On February 28, 2020 MFA State Secretary Andriy Zayats met with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Ukraine Mrs. Faouz El Achchabi and the Ambassador of the French Republic to Ukraine Mr. Etienne de Poncins.

During the meeting the issues related to the intensification of Ukraine's cooperation with the International Organization of Francophonie (IOF) were discussed, in particular within the context of holding in March this year in Ukraine «Journées de la Francophonie» to which the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine will traditionally be involved.

The parties also exchanged views on enhancing the role of this influential international organization in line with preparations for the Francophonie Summit to be held in Decemder 2020 in Tunis, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the IOF.

The importance of consolidating the efforts of all the OIF countries to prevent and resolve crises in the francophone world as well as to strengthen the rule of law and democracy, was emphasized separately.
