On August 29, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mykola Tochytskyi held talks with the Vice-Chair of the Standing Committee on National Defence of the Parliament of Canada James Bezan and a member of this Committee - Pat Kelly.
Mykola Tochytskyi expressed gratitude to the members of the Parliament for the continued political support and comprehensive assistance provided by Canada to our country.
During the meeting, considerable attention was paid to the implementation of the Peace Formula initiated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukraine's path towards NATO membership, in particular preparation for the next NATO Summit, which will be held in Washington in July 2024. In this context, the Deputy Minister emphasized that Ukraine’s priority goal is to receive an invitation to join NATO at the Summit.
In its turn, Canadian parliamentarians assured of unwavering support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as Canada's readiness to contribute to the implementation of the Euro-Atlantic aspirations of Ukraine. They also emphasized continuation of the unwavering and comprehensive support for Ukraine on its way to restoring its territorial integrity within internationally recognized borders.
