On April 5, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mykola Tochytskyi had a meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania Jonas Survila. The meeting was held in the framework of the official visit of Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal to Lithuania.

Mykola Tochytskyi expressed gratitude to Lithuania for its assistance in the military-technical sphere, in particular, leadership in the international demining coalition, Lithuania's accession to the IT coalition, and financial contribution to the implementation of the Czech initiative to purchase artillery ammunition.

The parties also praised the cooperation between the two countries in the context of countering Russian armed aggression and overcoming its consequences.

Jonas Survila emphasized the key role of Ukraine in ensuring security in the region and Europe, the priority of the Ukrainian direction for Lithuanian diplomacy, and Lithuania's determination to further support Ukraine.

The interlocutors positively assessed the progress of negotiations on the conclusion of a bilateral agreement between Ukraine and Lithuania in the security sector.

During the meeting, Mykola Tochytskyi and Jonas Survila emphasized the importance of the prompt opening of negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU, Ukraine's invitation to join the North Atlantic Alliance during the Washington Summit, expansion of the circle of countries participating in the Peace Formula and holding of the Global Peace Summit in the near future.
