On 5 of April, Anton Demokhin, Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister of Digital Development, Transformation and Digitalisation, participated in the inaugural meeting of the International Cyber Diplomacy Forum Steering Committee.
The event was organised and hosted by the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine that acts under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
Ukrainian diplomats, representatives of academic and scientific institutions and foreign experts participated in the event.
"Given the scientific and educational potential of the participants, the Forum is expected to become a leading platform for cooperation and development of innovations in the field of cyberdiplomacy, and will serve to ensure peace, stability and sustainability in the digital age," said Deputy Foreign Minister Anton Demokhin in his welcoming speech.
Gennadiy Nadolenko, Chairman of the Steering Committee of the International Forum and Director of the Diplomatic Academy, emphasised: "Today, the Forum provides an opportunity to bring together representatives of governments, experts from various fields and civil society to cooperate and address pressing issues in the field of digital technologies”.
Within the framework of the upcoming Forum the conference “First Scientific-Practical Conference on Cyberdiplomacy” will take place in Kyiv on 15 and 16 of May 2024.
The Conference aims to explore the potential of cyberdiplomacy and the role it can play in shaping the future of international relations. In view of the pace of technological progress and the growing dependence on digital technologies, the event focuses to deepen the understanding of the transformative processes in the system of international relations. It also strives to provide a platform to discuss and develop joint innovative solutions to sustainable development and digital safety.
