On July 24, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mykola Tochytskyi held a meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Ukraine Seymur Mardaliyev.

The sides discussed bilateral cooperation issues, confirmed mutual support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of both Ukraine and Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, Mykola Tochytskyi informed Seymur Mardaliyev about Russia's ongoing military aggression against Ukraine. Ukrainian diplomat thanked Azerbaijan for the humanitarian assistance provided, in particular the decision dated July 17, 2023 to allocate $7.6 million for support of Ukraine's energy system.

During the meeting, the sides also focused on cooperation within the framework of GUAM, in particular, the implementation of the project on the development of the GUAM transport corridor, as well as the exchange of experience in humanitarian demining.
