The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine announces with deep sorrow the passing of Ihor Oleksandrovych Mityukov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine.
Ihor Oleksandrovych dedicated more than half of his life to serving Ukraine. After a successful career in the financial sector, he was appointed Deputy Governor of the National Bank. He served as Vice Prime Minister for Financial and Banking Affairs and held the position of Minister of Finance of Ukraine under four consecutive governments.
During his diplomatic service, he headed Ukraine's diplomatic mission to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and served as the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the International Maritime Organization.
He was actively involved in analytical research, having founded and headed the Institute of Financial Policy. He served on the supervisory boards of several major state institutions, banks, and corporations. Throughout his career, he was honored with numerous state awards of Ukraine.
The staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine expresses its deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Ihor Oleksandrovych. His memory will remain bright.
