On 22 November, Director of the First Territorial Department General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Rostyslav Ogryzko held consultations with the Special Envoy for Ukraine at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Kingdom of Belgium Jan de Pauw. He expressed his gratitude to the Belgian side for its steady and comprehensive support for Ukraine since the first days of Russia's full-scale invasion.
The parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral relations and the multilateral agenda, noting the active Ukrainian-Belgian political dialogue at the highest and high levels.
The diplomats exchanged views on the appropriate response of the partner countries to Russia's recent escalation. In this context, the interlocutors stressed the need to strengthen defence support for Ukraine and develop long-term forms of cooperation in this area, as well as to introduce additional sanctions mechanisms against the aggressor country.
The Belgian side reaffirmed its readiness to continue to provide the full range of assistance needed to strengthen Ukraine's resilience.
