On February 5, political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Ukraine and the Kingdom of the Netherlands were held.
Within the framework of the consultations Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis and Special Representative of Ukraine for the Middle East and Africa Maksym Subkh held separate meetings with Director-General for Political Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Marcel de Vink.
During the event the parties focused on practical issues of Ukrainian-Dutch cooperation, in particular, agreed on high-level bilateral contacts for the near future, discussed the prospects for further defence support as well as assistance from the Netherlands in promoting Ukraine's European integration and forming a consensus among partner countries on Ukraine's accession to NATO.
The parties also discussed cooperation in bringing Russia to justice, exchanged assessments of recent decisions of the International Court of Justice in Ukraine's lawsuits against Russia, as well as the establishment of the Special Tribunal for the crime of Russian aggression against Ukraine.
Yevhen Perebyinis expressed gratitude to the Dutch side for the consistent political support and practical assistance provided to our country since the first days of Russia's full-scale invasion as well as for the support of Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations. "We welcome the strong leadership of the Netherlands in supporting Ukraine in extremely important fields, such as the transfer of F-16 fighter jets and the practical implementation of paragraph 7 of the Peace Formula "Restoring Justice", the Deputy Minister emphasized.
In addition, there was an exchange of views on the return to Ukraine of Ukrainian children abducted by the Russian occupiers, strengthening the sanctions policy against Russia, confiscation of Russian assets, as well as the participation of the Netherlands in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.
With the participation of Special Representative of Ukraine for the Middle East and Africa Maksym Subkh, an exchange of views on the development of the situation in the Middle East and Africa took place. Maksym Subkh thanked the Netherlands for its constant and tangible support on the African continent and informed the interlocutors about the expansion of Ukraine's diplomatic presence in African countries, the main achievements of Ukrainian diplomacy and its priorities.
