On 30 May, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Olexandr Mischenko received copies of the credentials from Austria’s Ambassador to Ukraine, Robert Müller.

The Deputy Minister congratulated the Ambassador on the beginning of his diplomatic mission and expressed hope for the development and further strengthening of bilateral relations.

Olexandr Mischenko thanked Austria for its comprehensive support of Ukraine in countering Russian aggression, particularly for its financial, economic, and humanitarian assistance.

The parties acknowledged the active dialogue between Austria and Ukraine at all levels and discussed the upcoming schedule of bilateral events. Olexandr Mischenko expressed special gratitude for the unanimous adoption by both chambers of the Austrian Parliament of resolutions aimed at consolidating efforts to return Ukrainian children and create safe conditions for their lives in Ukraine.

The interlocutors emphasized the importance of ensuring continued support for Ukraine, especially in humanitarian and human rights areas, as well as holding the aggressor accountable.

Special attention was paid to intensifying economic cooperation between the two countries, which was supported, among other things, by the visit in April of this year of an Austrian business delegation led by the Governor of Lower Austria, Johanna Mikl-Leitner.
