On August 14, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Olexandr Mischenko held a meeting with the Armenian delegation headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan, which arrived in Ukraine to participate in the celebrations marking the 975th anniversary of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
The interlocutors discussed current issues of Ukrainian-Armenian relations, in particular ways to intensify political dialogue, and exchanged views on priority areas of bilateral cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
In this context, the importance of expanding relevant contacts was mutually emphasized and the terms of holding bilateral events at the political level, as well as sectoral cooperation, were outlined.
Against the backdrop of Russian armed aggression against Ukraine, special attention was paid to regional security and ways to stabilize it.
In the context of the successful holding of parliamentary elections in Armenia and the formation of the country's new government, Olexandr Mischenko expressed hope that Yerevan would continue its pro-European course and informed the Armenian delegation about the current state and prospects for the European integration of our state, and also emphasized Kyiv's readiness to exchange experience with Armenia in this area.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed issues of further interaction within international organizations and identified priority areas of cooperation in the international arena.
