Mariana Betsa held a meeting with UNICEF Representative to Ukraine Anne-Claire Dufay
13 August 2026 18:24

On 12 August, Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Mariana Betsa held a meeting with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) Representative to Ukraine Anne-Claire Dufay.

During the meeting, Mariana Betsa expressed her gratitude to UNICEF for its support to Ukraine. At the same time, the Deputy Minister highlighted the importance of unequivocal, verified information-based communication by UNICEF that adequately reflects the fact and nature of the Russian Federation's armed aggression against our state, as well as the scale of its consequences.

"We are grateful to UNICEF for its consistent support of Ukrainian families with children. At the same time, we expect UNICEF to pursue a more resolute and straightforward communication policy – one that calls things by their names and does not remain silent on Russia's responsibility for the deaths of Ukrainian children," the Ukrainian diplomat emphasized.

The parties noted the constructive nature of the bilateral dialogue and agreed to step up joint efforts to prepare for the autumn-winter period.

In this context, the UNICEF representative briefed the Deputy Minister on the Fund's current projects in the field of humanitarian response and support for Ukraine's energy infrastructure, and announced a new project aimed at significantly strengthening support for families with children in frontline areas of Ukraine.
