On August 13, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis received copies of credentials from the newly appointed Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ukraine Boris Ruge.
The Deputy Minister congratulated the Head of the German Mission on the start of his diplomatic activities in our country and highly appreciated the current level of political dialogue between Ukraine and Germany, in particular the formalization of the strategic partnership between our countries this year.
Yevhen Perebyinis noted Germany's European leadership in humanitarian, financial, security, and defence assistance amid Russian aggression against Ukraine. "We highly appreciate Germany's assistance in protecting Ukraine from Russian aggression, particularly the allocation of additional interceptor missiles for the IRIS-T and Patriot air defence systems, as well as Germany's contribution to the PURL initiative", - Yevhen Perebyinis stressed.
Yevhen Perebyinis emphasized the importance of increasing international pressure on the aggressor state, as well as the need for further support of the Defence Forces of Ukraine, in particular with critically important missiles for air defence systems.
For his part, Boris Ruge noted that Germany will continue to do its utmost for Ukraine, above all strengthening Ukrainian air defence and defence capabilities, to counter Russian aggression.
The sides also discussed the intensification of bilateral political dialogue between the two countries, as well as cooperation on Ukraine's path to EU integration, in particular the importance of the earliest possible opening of the remaining negotiating clusters.
