On January 9, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Olexandr Mishchenko met with Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Ukraine Seymur Mardaliev.

The interlocutors confirmed mutual support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and Azerbaijan, and also exchanged views on priority areas of bilateral cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

The parties also discussed interaction within the framework of international organizations. In the context of Azerbaijan's chairmanship of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development - GUAM, the diplomats focused on the issue of convening a regular meeting of the GUAM Council of Foreign Ministers.

Olexandr Mishchenko thanked Azerbaijan for the humanitarian assistance provided, primarily for the energy system of Ukraine and the reconstruction of civilian infrastructure.

For his part, Seymur Mardaliev emphasized the readiness of his state to further strengthen practical assistance to Ukraine and strengthen cooperation between Kyiv and Baku.
