On 9 January, Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Olexandr Mischenko met with Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Ukraine Radek Pech.
Olexandr Mischenko thanked the Czech Republic for its consistent support of Ukraine in countering Russian armed aggression, in particular in the context of the Czech Republic's readiness to continue in 2025 the initiative to supply artillery shells and other weapons for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He also stressed the importance of amplifying international pressure on Russia and bringing the aggressor country to justice for its crimes in Ukraine.
The Deputy Minister commended the activities of the Czech Republic and the implementation of critical infrastructure restoration projects in affected regions of our country. He expressed gratitude for the decision to increase funding for the Czech «Humanitarian, Stabilization, Reconstruction and Economic Assistance Programme for Ukraine in 2023-2025» for the period of 2026-2030.
The parties exchanged views on foreign policy developments relevant to the interests of Ukraine and the Czech Republic, as well as support for Ukraine on its path to the EU and NATO. Olexandr Mischenko expressed gratitude for the unwavering position of the Czech partners in the context of the implementation of the European and European integration aspirations of our country.
The parties discussed the schedule of political contacts at the highest level in 2025 and ways to intensify the Ukrainian-Czech interparliamentary dialogue.
