On March 7, 2025 Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Olexandr Mischenko held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Ukraine Alle Dorhout.

Olexandr Mischenko expressed gratitude for the comprehensive support the Netherlands has provided to Ukraine since the first days of Russia’s full-scale aggression, as well as for its clear stance regarding achieving a just and lasting peace for Ukraine.

During the meeting, the Sides paid particular attention to the Dutch support for the defense needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as well as for investments in drone production for Ukraine. The Deputy Minister emphasized the leading role of the Netherlands in the coalition of aviation capabilities and expressed gratitude for providing additional F-16 fighter jets in February 2025, which are protecting the sky over Ukraine.

Olexandr Mischenko also expressed gratitude to the Netherlands for its support of Ukraine’s EU path and its initiative to introduce consultations in the form of an annual bilateral intergovernmental conference. The exchange of views on the possible elements of the first such conference, which would promote the deepening of bilateral political dialogue, harmonization of Ukrainian legislation with EU law, and sectoral integration, took place during the meeting.

The Sides discussed possible scenarios for a return to peace between Ukraine and Russia and emphasized the importance of further deepening Ukrainian-Dutch communication. It was agreed to hold bilateral political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of both countries soon.

The Ukrainian diplomat also emphasized the importance of the participation of the high level Dutch parliamentary delegation in the Bucha Summit, scheduled for the end of March.

Ambassador Alle Dorhout, for his part, assured that Ukraine can always count on further support from the Netherlands in its fight against Russian aggression and in establishing a just and lasting peace for Ukraine.
