04 June 2026 20:52

On June 4, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Olexandr Mischenko took part in the round table “Ukraine – Middle East: A New Architecture of Partnership,” dedicated to the official launch of the Arabic-language version of the website of the Ukrainian National News Agency Ukrinform.

In his remarks, Olexandr Mischenko noted the importance of strengthening Ukraine’s information presence in the Arabic-speaking environment and stressed that the launch of the Arabic-language version of the Ukrinform website will become an important tool for conveying the truth about Ukraine to audiences in the Middle East and North Africa.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that amid ongoing russian aggression, Ukraine is countering not only a military threat but also large-scale russian propaganda and disinformation. According to him, systematic communication in Arabic will make it possible to better explain Ukraine’s position and build long-term trust in the Ukrainian voice in the region.

Olexandr Mischenko separately noted the intensification of Ukraine’s cooperation with Arab states, in particular in the context of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Middle East tour to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Qatar, Syria and Bahrain. He stressed that Ukraine has significant practical experience gained in fighting russian aggression that could be useful to partners in the areas of protecting the civilian population and critical infrastructure.

During the event, the Deputy Minister also held meetings with Chairman of the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine Oleh Nalyvaiko and Ukrinform General Director Serhii Cherevatyi.

The sides discussed the launch of the Arabic-language version of the Ukrinform website, its role in developing Ukraine’s dialogue with countries of the Middle East and North Africa and further cooperation on the systematic coverage of Ukrainian topics in the Arab information space.
