On 24 April, in Kyiv, on behalf of the MFA of Ukraine, Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Olexandr Mischenko took part in the official ceremony of handing over another humanitarian convoy consisting of 36 vehicles with aid for the Defense Forces of Ukraine, delivered through the joint efforts of volunteers from the Estonian organization "HELP99".
With this convoy, "HELP99" volunteers, together with the NAFO network, delivered the milestone 1,000th vehicle to Ukraine for Ukrainian soldiers.
In his address to the participants of the event, Olexandr Mischenko expressed his gratitude to the co-organizers of "HELP99" — Ragnar Sass and Peeter Pikken, as well as to all volunteers and donors present from various countries who have consistently supported our state since the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. The Deputy Minister noted that Ukrainians remember that as early as 18 February 2022, Estonia handed over Javelin anti-tank systems to Ukraine, which, along with other assistance from partners, helped to thwart the Russian offensive on Kyiv.
Throughout all the years of the war, Estonia remains among Ukraine’s most devoted partners, providing significant military assistance annually, as well as support in the treatment and rehabilitation of Ukrainian military personnel, the restoration of critical infrastructure, and in the humanitarian sphere.
During the event, Olexandr Mischenko also held a meeting with Kristo Enn Vaga, Member of the Estonian Parliament, who in 2024 cycled 1,700 kilometers from Tallinn to Kyiv and raised over 30,000 euros for drones and vehicles for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
We express our sincere gratitude to the volunteers from Estonia and other countries for their principled support of Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression.
